Comment
This mostly summarises the story or gives us details about Curley that are not related to the question. Knowledge and understanding of the text is shown but it is fairly superficial. It leaves out most of the important points, makes little use of quotation or context and does not answer the question.
For a C grade
- Answer the question.
- Show evidence of some personal thoughts about the novel.
- Mention that Curley is one of the reasons his wife is in the barn, and so is part of the reason for Lennie's death and must take some responsibility for it.
