Comment

The response relates to a range of broadly relevant subject-matter and there are some extended and connected observations in the final paragraph. The link between comment and quotation is loose. There is rather too much account of what characters are like, rather than comment on the ideas their behaviour illustrates.

For a C grade

  • Avoid false introductions that only repeat the task and waste words.
  • Make sure that the quotations support a clear point.
  • Think about what we learn from a character’s behaviour rather than simply describing it.
