Read it twice. Circle instruction words like ‘Explain’ and the key words, such as ‘conflict’, then note down what they are asking you to do.

You need to know what you’re going to write about. Make a list of key points and quotations and get them into the best order.

Know how long you have to answer your question and make sure you stick to the timing.

Make sure that everything you write is connected to the question. Quickly check your work as you go along to make sure that you stay on task.
